Abstract :
Human negotiation behavior is adapted to develop a negotiation model for resolving conflicting objectives. The proposed model includes a goal decision network and three operators: bridging, unlinking, and logrolling. Bridging is an action that combines requests and offers. Unlinking is essentially modification of the goal(s) and/or constraint(s). When negotiating parties are in a deadlock, logrolling is a concession exchange to provide a least-unsatisfactory solution to all. The negotiation framework is described. The decision problem of cogeneration planning is formulated using the proposed negotiation framework. Future work on extension of the negotiation model is discussed
