Abstract :
For power converter control design, the first step is to obtain its small-signal model; then the control design can be performed. The authors describe how it is possible to use Pspice to simulate real control scheme that will be implemented in the converter and test its real large and small-signal behaviour. The process is quite simple, the averaged state equations method (without any small-signal approximation) leaves a circuit representation of all the averaged state equations in one sole circuit. Then is possible to use Pspice to simulate the real large and small-signal behaviour of the converter with real control schemes that will be implemented on it. This is demonstrated by comparing the simulations result of a low ripple buck power converter with conductance control using Pspice, with the real behaviour of a prototype power converter set-up
