Abstract
A novel planar interdigital sensor based sensing system has been fabricated and developed for the purpose of environmental monitoring. The main focus is to assess easily the dangerous molecules such as marine biotoxins in seafood. The ultimate goal is to prevent the unwanted illnesses due to consumption of dangerous toxins along with raw oysters, claws and mussels. Three types of novel sensors were designed to have the same number of electrodes but with different configurations. These novel sensors were tested and analysed for their performance using three peptide derivatives and seafood samples. Based on the highest sensitivity, the best sensor has been selected. Experiments using samples contaminated with domoic acid have been conducted for the best novel sensor.
