  • Abstract
A delay tuning based transmit diversity scheme is proposed and its performance is compared with the performance of conventional RAKE receivers and multiple receiver antenna (multi RX) schemes. The performance improvement by using RAKE reception with the delay tuning based scheme is also discussed. In the proposed scheme, the transmission of each transmitting antenna is delay-adjusted in order to combine the strongest paths of the antennas coherently in space. This approach yields significant increase in performance in multiuser UWB environments, and reduces the complexity of the receivers.
