Abstract :
A new method for eliminating the temperature dependence of an interferometer is proposed and demonstrated. This method is effective for interferometers such as a Fabry-Perot etalon or a virtually-imaged phased-array. An experiment with a filter at 1550 nm showed that the shift of the filtering wavelength due to the temperature change was less than 0.1 nm in a temperature range between 5/spl deg/C and 85/spl deg/C.
