  • Abstract
    A new optimized SOA, with short active region, tensile bulk active material and double core tapers, shows an extremely low n/sub sp//c/sub 1/ value of 5.2 dB, which is 2 dB lower than previously published results at 1.55 /spl mu/m [8].
