Abstract :
An enhanced optoelectronic millimeter-wave upconverter composed of a wideband distributed transimpedance amplifier with a fast MQW VUG DFB laser operates in the 28/38 GHz range. The modulation power required is only 10 dBm and the modulation frequency remains between 5-10 GHz, which are compatible with commercial oscillator available RF power and frequency range. At 60 GHz, more than -40 dBm of available electrical power is expected by modulating in the range of 5-10 GHz.
