Abstract
Using a new method of presenting eye margin, we developed a guideline to optimize the performance of 10 Gb/s standard (non-DSF) fiber transmission systems employing dispersion compensating fibers. We show excellent agreement between experimental data and simulation results of 120 km, 240 km and 360 km repeatered transmission.
