Abstract
Spectral characteristics of fiber Bragg gratings can be controlled by the heater array of the thermal head driven with the computer-generated signals. A bandpass filter and a chirped grating were demonstrated using a single non-chirped grating. This method can be applied for static or dynamic control of gratings used in optical communication or fiber sensors.
