Abstract :
The Rayleigh scattering and refractive index dispersion of these glasses are investigated. The material dispersion is zero at 1.5 /spl mu/m and the expected minimum loss is 0.06 dB/km. A fluorine-doped cladding is appropriate for these fibers.
