Abstract
Cross-section shape of Averaging Pitot Tube (APT) flow sensor probe is a determinant factor in meter performance. In order to improve the performance of APT flow sensor, the experimental research of APT flow sensor with Flow Conditioning Wing (FCW) was carried out at the water flow standard facility in Tianjin University, and compared with the cross-sections of circle, diamond and Delta Bar. Shown by the experimental data, the linearity error, the meter factor and the repeatability error of FCW cross-section are close to 0.5%, 0.55 and 0.1% respectively, which are better than the other cross section shapes. The measuring precision is improved.
