Abstract :
Based on the engineering experience of South Africa "Strong Foundation and Thin Pavement", this was used in the Liaoning coastal highway construction. Fife element modeling was used to study the change of the asphalt pavement design parameters when the subgrade with high modulus, and suggests the reasonable asphalt pavement struction of subgrade with high modulus. Results indicate that subgrade with high modulus can effectively reduce deflection value of asphalt pavement and the tensile stress of bottom layers of the structure. When the modulus of subgrade is high, the thickness of subgrade can be appropriately reduced by 15~20cm, and rubber asphalt is used as pavement which makes road performance of new asphalt pavement structure better.
