Abstract :
This paper presents a proposed method for the design of radio frequency and microwave circuits. In this method, the circuit is divided into subnetworks or blocks instead of unit elements as in the conventional network synthesis methods. The S parameters of each block are calculated using optimization then, knowledge based models such as knowledge based artificial neural network models or structures with specific passband characteristics are used to replace the subnetworks using S parameters fitting. Unlike the conventional network synthesis methods, the first stage design of the proposed method can take into account all the discontinuities and parasitic effects incorporated in the circuit. Then interactive analysis and optimization of the entire circuit are performed. The proposed method can be used to design multiport networks with any number of ports and can also be used to synthesize lumped and distributed matching networks.
