Abstract
Squaring of non-square systems with accessible states is made by finding additional inputs or outputs such that the zeros of the resulting square systems are located at the positions of a subset of system poles and consisting of fixed modes. A static output feedback is developed such that the remaining poles of the squared system are arbitrarily assigned in the left half of the s-plane
