Abstract
The paper outlines the potential of fast frequency hopping/multiple frequency shift keying (FFH/MFSK) code division multiple access (CDMA) techniques for use in mobile radio systems. The paper gives advantages and drawbacks of FFH/MFSK CDMA summarizing the results of both previous contributions and new investigations. The latter take into account robustness against both narrowband interference and shadowing. It is shown that systems applying FFH/MFSK CDMA have low complexity and provide remarkable bandwidth efficiency and high robustness against various types of interference and other imperfections
