  • Abstract
In order to reduce environmental impact the reuse of parts is indispensable and quality assurance for the reused parts has become an important issue. In this paper a robust and sensitive inspection method to detect various kinds of defects expected for used roller parts is proposed, which is a reflection line tracking control technique together with a new image processing algorithm. A line sensor camera can be controlled to capture the surface image of the parts with high sensitivity against large movement of the target in the reflection line tracking control technique. The image processing algorithm is composed of the comparison of the captured image in all frequency fields with that of good products. The experiments to evaluate the proposed method show sufficient detection ability.
