Abstract
Research into the feasibility of combining multiple renewable energy resources into a portable system led to the development of the Mobile Elemental Power Plant, MEPP. MEPP is a unique solution that currently utilizes two forms of renewable energy through cogeneration to provide portable power. The MEPP replaces a typical transportable gas powered generator combining photovoltaic solar energy and wind turbine energy to provide both AC and DC output from four 250 Amp-hour rechargeable batteries. The entire system is compactly mounted on a custom road-rated trailer, ready for quick and easy deployment on location. The development of MEPP has significant potential for remote area medical services, disaster relief situations, military operations, recreational locations and remote government and commercial sites.
