Abstract
In this paper, we present an improved approach of indoor location using Wireless Local Area Network. To reduce the influence from multi-path interference, we used a max filter to preprocess the original received signal strength indications. We also used a more conformable distribution to substitute the standard Gaussian distribution in indoor location system. Our experiments results show that the proposed method is effective.
