Abstract
Engineering management in new product development is facing challenges such as global market, high technologies, large scale projects, rapid changing environment, and complex enterprise operations. Based on a case study about Sony´s product development process, this paper deals with engineering management approaches from the viewpoint of knowledge amplification in engineering processes of new product development. An information system for engineering management is proposed to support clarification of targets, sharing of information and knowledge amplification of individuals and teams
