Abstract
This paper presents the application of DQ theory like a tool for the analysis operation and controller design of a PWM rectifier, which is able to regulate the DC load voltage, to maintain the power factor near to the unit and to reduce the harmonic distortion. This study stands out the conditions and limitations for the PWM rectifier operation, taking into account that system performance and transient response are directly related with physical parameters. The conditions and limitations exposed should be considered for the control law design. Analysis and modeling is presented, as well as simulation and experimental results validating the system operation.
