Abstract
Integration of a large wind farm into a distribution and transmission system may have a severe influence on the voltage profile and controllability at the connection point. The Rejsby Hede project investigates the use of an ±8 MVAr SVG or STATCOM in a 24 MW wind farm. Furthermore, it is evaluated how STATCOMs may be used for dynamic control of network voltages, thus making it possible to increase the size of wind farms which may be connected to existing weak electrical distribution networks without any need for network upgrading. The behaviour of the Rejsby Hede STATCOM will be evaluated over a one-year trial period during which a comprehensive measurement programme is carried out
