  • Abstract
    According to the specificity of a line including thyristor-controlled series capacitors (TCSC), this paper analyses the power flow controlled by TCSC devices and deduces a set of formulae about the power flow control. The iterative forms of these formulae and the iterative equations of the Newton method modified by the natural parameter of TCSC are solved alternately in order to determine the adjustable characters of TCSC. The engineering analysis indicates that the algorithm is particularly valuable in achieving the function that in large systems the power flows on the lines with TCSC devices are controlled effectively
