Abstract
In this paper, the consultant study results of Three Gorges to Changzhou HVDC Project were summarized. The characteristics and performance requirements of this project were introduced. In specifying performance requirements, the special features of this project, conditions and requirements of both side AC systems as well as environment conditions and requirements were considered carefully. The most up to date technology of HVDC and computerized controls were followed. Efforts have been made to promote development of HVDC technology and to minimize the cost of the project with the basis of ensuring security and stability of the AC/DC systems
