Abstract
A new global optimization method called heuristic evolutionary programming (HEP) is developed in this paper, based on the combination of the general evolutionary programming (GEP) and the classical gradient search techniques. This algorithm includes an important procedure called searching region change reduction. The developed algorithm can effectively reduce the CPU time with the global optimums being obtained. Its efficiency is higher than that of GEP. Numerical results demonstrate the validity and effectiveness
