Abstract :
A novel integrated electronic tongue has been developed for the concentration determination of trace heavy metal ions in aqueous media. It combines an Au microelectrodes array (AuMEA) with a multiple lightaddressable potentiometric sensor (MLAPS) on a silicon substrate. AuMEA contains 30 times 30 individual 10 mum diameter Au disk microelectrodes, upon which thin mercury film is electrodeposited. Square-wave anodic-stripping voltammetry (SWASV) is used for simultaneous analysis of Zn(II), Cd(II), Pb(II) and Cu(II) with AuMEA. Parallel detections of Fe(III) and Cr(VI) are based on MLAPS with two ion-selective chalcogenide thin films which are formed on two 2mm times 2mm Au surfaces. Measure results show parts-per-billion sensitivity of the six ions mentioned above
