Abstract
Based on the Butterworth prototype, a practical design method of maximally flat bandpass filter is introduced for the structure of waveguide E-plane metal insert in this paper. The synthesized filter structure with Butterworth characteristics is analyzed and measured to show the validity of the method. The two groups of results are presented and compared to be in good accordance with each other. The K ∼ f curve is presented and used to explain the bandwidth degradation.
