Abstract
This paper presents the kernel selection for a TF-representation used in measuring the rotor speed in AC machines, without the use of shaft mounted sensors. This method is based on the analysis of speed related harmonics that arise from rotor slotting. In the paper the use of the Wigner-Ville Distribution (WVD) is analyzed
