Abstract :
In this paper, we study scalability on the Gnutella, Chord, FreeNet and BitTorrent. We propose the hybrid peer-to-peer model as an improvement in searching so that every query by peer should be able to be independent from the total number of peers, and make the system expandable without the addition of incoming or outgoing messages. We compare the stress of peers and amount of message needed for queries via simulation with the above protocols and demonstrate that the proposed design is able to scale well.
