  • Abstract
    The purpose of present study was to assess the role of interactive media in teaching learning process at higher education level. The study was descriptive in nature and therefore survey method was selected for the collection of data. To achieve the purpose a questionnaire of 35 questions for 200 students and 10 teachers of Virtual University of Pakistan was constructed. After reviewing the related literature, the questionnaire was designed and was filled up by students and teachers of Virtual University of Pakistan. The main important issues which were focused in the study were, interactive media, diagnostic tools, learning trends, role of teacher, impact of technology, professional growth of teachers, collaborative teaching and online conferences. The collection of data was analyzed by calculating the percentage and mean score of responses on each question of items of the questions. The major results of the study were as: a) long-term concepts must be developed first b) A close cooperation with lecturers in teaching methods, media designers and computer scientists is absolutely necessary c) The technical development of the software and hardware must be considered d) solutions must be expanded and modified constantly.
