Abstract
A system for the automated visual inspection of dry fiber composite lay-ups in a robotic assembly cell is presented. Boundary detection of a laid-up workplace is aided by a fast texture segmentation method based on convolution. An edge refinement stage is used to increase the accuracy of the detected boundary. A prestored reference template is used to measure deviation from ideal position
