Abstract :
A practical computer architecture of a high-speed image processor which has been developed for automated visual inspection systems (AVISs) is presented. It enhances some fundamental functions, aiming at the satisfaction of requirements such as high-speed processing ability, flexibility, and simplicity of system construction. A method of system control by video signal synchronization for the architecture is described, and the realized processor is shown
