Summary form only given. Reviews the various activities now underway with respect to the professional certification of computer security professionals. The recent growth in the awareness of the computer security issues has led to the creation of many new information systems security positions in the public and private sectors. While information systems security is a highly complex field, it is ultimately a people problem. As such, the protection of sensitive information requires the development and maintenance of a skilled, dedicated cadre of professionals
