Abstract
Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANET) are created by wireless devices for communication and service sharing purposes on a temporary basis. MANET management consists of operations like setup, join/leave, merge, split and termination. This paper reviews the net_id concept that allows MANET management to be extremely simple and scalable in regard to other strategies such as Bluetooth and IP-based, and then presents experimental results that illustrate the concept´s features.
