  • Abstract
Summary form only given. In 1989, a consortium of professional organizations interested in the certification of information security personnel was formed to establish a certification program. Committees have been formed to define the common body of knowledge, determine the qualifications required for certification without testing and to write appropriate test questions. The common body of knowledge and qualifications committees have completed their work and the test committee has made significant progress. Negotiations are in progress to obtain a testing service that will validate and administer the certification examinations. Also, an official study guide is planned. The first examination is planned to be held before the end of 1991
