Abstract :
This paper presents a novel approach for wireless networked real-time control. Using delta-sigma modulation sensing and control signals are encoded in a binary format, which can be implemented in one-bit registers. The one bit signals are pulses that are able to be transmitted naturally in wireless. Control laws can be efficiently implemented with one-bit signals at both the input and output. The resulting one-bit control signals can be applied directly to the actuators to drive physical systems.
