Abstract :
We have successfully demonstrated cell delineation and VCI overwrite optically at 2.5 Gb/s. The 2×1 optical switch is made of two modulators. To simplify the experiment, we arbitrarily chose the ATM cell size as 64 bytes, including 5-byte guard time, 5-byte header, another 6-byte guard time, and 48-byte payload. The guard time is asserted for future experiments for the optical ATM switch system that is being prototyped
