Abstract
The virtually imaged phased array (VIPA) can create large angular dispersion for demultiplexing of dense WDM signals. In order to reduce crosstalk and increase fiber coupling efficiency, we modify the VIPA design by tapering the reflectivity. We develop a simulation to confirm this improvement
