Abstract
Chassis gap detection device is widely used for testing the value of chassis gap. According to the disability of detecting chassis gap efficiently and precisely, a novel chassis gap detection device adopts double-rocker construction is proposed. For ensuring the good performance of the tester, the transmission and tester model is established in ADAMS to simulate the dynamics feature of the detection device. The detection principle of chassis gap including driving system gap and transmission gap is presented. If there is only the lateral force in the detection, the value of driving system gap can be measured by the lateral force-displacement characteristic curves about the centroid locus of the supporting plate. If there is only tangential force, the total transmission gap can be available by measuring the tangential force-displacement characteristic curves. The simulation results show that by the measurement of characteristic curve, double-rocker chassis gap test system can detect the gap in kingpin matching pair, wheel hub bearings of driving system and the total clearance angle of transmission, simultaneously. It can be seen that the indicated model greatly improve efficiency and accuracy of vehicle detection.
