Abstract
Photoacoustic tomography (PAT) is an emerging noninvasive imaging modality that has significant potential for many medical applications. The filtered back-projection (FBP) algorithm is utilized for the image reconstruction. However, there exists a defect that the artifacts degrade the quality of the reconstructed image. In this paper, the anisotropic diffusion (AD) is introduced to improve the reconstruction algorithm. Numerical simulation experiments are carried out to demonstrate the performance of the algorithm. It is showed that the artifacts are suppressed effectively with the image details well preserved.
