Abstract :
The Social Cognition and Knowledge Creation using Collaborative Technology Minitrack serves as an outlet for research that addresses the use of collaboration technology to create knowledge. Of special interest is the role of social interactions that take place within the creation, codification, and verification of this knowledge. Group knowledge is enhanced through sharing of individual knowledge, and collaboration technologies can enable to access, share, and add to group knowledge, based on prevailing group attitudes. This is the second year that the Minitrack has been offered, though the emphasis has shifted from gains and losses in traditional group support systems to knowledge creation through the use of these systems. The papers in the Minitrack are clustered into three sessions that focus on distinct themes associated with the use of collaboration technology for knowledge creation.
