Abstract :
A tracking algorithm using both position and range rate measurements for a target from phased array radar observations is presented. The performances of an extended Kalman filter (EKF) with range rate measurements and a Kalman filter without range rate measurements are compared with regard to relative accuracies. Computer simulation results show that the EKF with the range rate measurements gives a good improvement, especially when the target maneuvers
