Abstract
The random-walk model of structural dynamics is used to account for long-range cooperative phenomena in supercooled liquids. Coupling of structural units within ordered regions is shown to cause narrowing of the distribution function for the energies of structural units. This approach allows one to explain the Kauzmann paradox and to fit non-Debye susceptibility spectra obtained on so-called fragile glasses. The results are in quantitative agreement with existing experimental data
