Abstract
In an aperiodic code-division multiple-access (CDMA) system, the spreading sequences are designed to span multiple symbols. Since the spreading sequences are cyclostationary, this property can be exploited to derive channel equalization and interference rejection algorithms. Multiple antenna elements can be coupled with adaptive equalization to offer significant performance gains over that achieved by a similar system with only one antenna. In this paper, we investigate a multiple antenna cyclostationary receiver with a parallel architecture for an aperiodic CDMA signal that converts an aperiodic sequence into piecewise periodic sequences. The performance of the proposed receiver is evaluated for a real downlink aperiodic CDMA signal, and it is compared with that of a conventional matched filter (MF) receiver. The number of correctly decoded paging channel messages is used as the performance measure
