Abstract
We present the performance modeling and simulation results for the wideband CDMA wireless local loop (W-WLL) system protocol designed by HEI. HEI´s W-WLL system complies with the Korean standard protocol dedicated for WLL application. The performance modeling is based on non-preemptive priority queueing models which include all the important protocol entities in the network elements. The performance measures are the mean call setup delay and the percentage of the call setups of which the delay exceed the predefined threshold. To see the effect of different protocol implementations, we compare two different call setup scenarios. By reducing the unnecessary message exchanges we could get a performance enhancement for the case of scenario 2 over scenario 1
