Aimed at the safe problem of water-supplying of Jiaonizhuang well field, a groundwater flow 2D numerical model and a particle tracking model were developed. The space of particles towards a given point under different time were calculated, furthermore, the hydraulic capture zone of groundwater flow can be confirmed. Based on these, three grades of water protection area of well field were delineated under different precipitation. The first and second grades of water protection area were delineated by the time of 100d and 25a of particles transportation towards the given point. The third grade of water protection area was delineated as the whole hydraulic capture zone under pumping conditions.
