Abstract
A novel CPW-fed dual folded symmetry planar antenna for multiband operation is presented. The proposed antenna is consists of dual folded symmetry radiation patch, dual rectangular ground plane with embedded dual L shaped slit and CPW feeder. The dual folded symmetry radiation patch can increase the current path length and get lower resonance frequency. The embedded dual L shaped slit in rectangular ground plane can increase the impedance bandwidth. Agreement between simulations and measurements is very good. The result indicates that the novel design can obtain better multiband characteristic which covers GSM, DCS, PCS, UMTS and ISM bands.
