  • Abstract
    During operations involving heart bypasses the operator of the blood pumping device usually looks at such parameters as blood pressure, flow and the level of oxygen in the blood. During such an operation a high level of demand is required by the operator to maintain the required bloodflow (which may require even further input by the surgeon). A fuzzy logic monitor has been developed that can assist in achieving the required pump speed and can be designed to produce alarms when critical regions are reached and when there is possible errors in judgement of the required pump speed
