Abstract :
This paper is an attempt to produce pure water suitable for most laboratory experiments and ultrapure water for experiments analysis by electrodialysis (ED) technology. The experiment was performed with tap water of 175.5 μS/cm and ED water of 6.1 μS/cm. Based on our results, Pure water can be produced at an electric potential difference up to 25V with properties of 6 μS/cm. However, the production of ultrapure water from ED water exhibited unsatisfactory results. The concentration polarization was easy observed within 20-25V and 8-10V for tap water and ED water treatments, respectively. The pH of concentrated solution tended to be higher than that of diluted solution as results of earth cations influences.
