Hydroxyl-terminated hyperbranched polymer (HPAE) and ferric sulfate were as material, hyperbranched polymer flocculant was prepared. The optimal conditions were that m(HPAE): m(Fe2(SO4)3)=2:l, pH was 2, temperature was 30°C and time was 18h. Its structure was characterized by IR and Hl-NMR , Moreover, it was applied in flocculating precipitation of oil and gas waste drilling fluid. The results showed that HPAE-F had good flocculation effect on waste drilling fluid. The chromaticity removing rate of supernatant fluid was 95%, and transmittance was 96.5%.
