Abstract :
Water being scares and the cost of making it available is so high that it is essential to run the plant efficiently and safely so that wastage is minimized. Financial resources are always constrained in a growing economy like India and hence the capital investment should be safe guarded so as to provide a minimum life of 20 years with vary nominal maintenance cost. Availability of trained and skilled men power for operational maintenance in these inaccessible locations is a major problem. For all the above three problems the common solution is to provide a reliable instrumentation, control and automation package with a SCADA which can be connected to a remote monitoring station in future.
